MultiSport Index

Key Findings from the MultiSport Index

  • 63% of active individuals

engage in sports or physical activity at least once a month.

  • 70% of employees

experience stress in the workplace. For 10% of them, this happens on a daily basis.

  • "I don't have enough time"

is the most common excuse for the lack of physical or sports activity.

  • The most active group

consists of people aged 15–39; nevertheless, an increasing number of individuals aged 40–50 are leading a more active lifestyle.

  • Walking, cycling, and hiking

are the most preferred physical activities. They are associated with enjoyment, self-care, and a positive mood.

  • Fitness, gymnastics, and running

are the most popular sports activities. They are considered more engaging and require greater discipline.

Stress and coping methods

Only 25% of the surveyed individuals do not experience stress in the workplace. The rest often feel overwhelmed by commitments and tasks or experience anxiety and irritation.

Data from the MultiSport Index show that most people actively cope with stress—through recreational or social activities, physical movement, and time spent outdoors or passive rest. Those who do nothing are more of an exception.

*The MultiSport Index is a representative omnibus survey based on personal interviews with 1,000 respondents from across the country – men and women of various ages and from different locations. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the sports attitudes of Bulgarians.
